Sanskrit Samhita Siddhant

Introduction:

SANSKRIT SAMHITA SIDDHANT department is one of the preclinical departments of Ayurveda. This department imparts knowledge of Ayurvedic Fundamentals and Sanskrit language. For better understanding of Ayurvedic concept Sanskrit is taught as a subject. This department deals with study classical texts (Samhita’s) of Ayurveda,their scientific exploration & Validation. Curricular details in the all subjects of BAMS (UG) course is ultimately derived from ancient Samhita’s. Hence it is a nodal department and connected with three main exams of BAMS (UG) course.

I BAMS – Three subjects are there from Sanskrit Samhita Siddhanta Department namely Sanskrit (as Language), Maulik Siddhanta & Ashtang Hridayam (Based on Ashtang Hriday – A Comendium of Ayurveda), Padarth Vidyana & Ayurved Itihas (Based on Varied Principles & Hostory of Ayurveda)

II BAMS – One subject - Charaka Samhita Purvardha (Based on Charaka Samhita – A Compendium from Ayurveda)

III BAMS - One subject - Charaka Samhita Uttarardha (Based on Charaka Samhita – A Compendium from Ayurveda)

Specialty:

To boost interest of students in Samhitas, department organizes activities like Shloka Recitation, Essay writing competition etc. - The Faculty publishes Articles & presents papers in various National / International journals regularly. - Faculties are well experienced & have upgraded with various CME, Workshops, MET, Research Methodology workshop etc.
