Panchkarma

Introduction:

Ayurveda is eternal science based upon vast observation and scientific practical evidence. In Ayurveda two treatment principles has been primarily mentioned one is shaman means palliative measures and another one is shodhan means purificative measures .shodhan chikitsa itself is called Panchakarma which includes five purificative procedures i.e. Vaman (emesis),Virechan(Purgation),Basti (Medicated enemas ), Nasya (Errhine therapy ) and Raktsmokshan (Blood letting ) .these purificative measures expels out morbid doshas and mala (metabolic waste or toxins ) outside body,which in turn helps to cure n prevent the disease.panchakarma not only done in diseased person but it also carried out in normal person seasonally.alomg with Panchakarma there are lot of allied therapeutic procedures mentioned in Ayurveda to treat various disorders which includes Abhyangya (massage), swedana,udvartan, lepa, pindsweda, sarvangdhara, shirodhara , katibasti,manyabasti, janubasti etc. These all procedures very effective in chronic disorders specially musculoskeletal ,neurological ,metabolic etc at Panchakarma dpt of late B.V.Kale Ayurveda medical College ,all these procedures carried out since last 18 years .millions of patient visited dpt and got benefitted of it.

Infrastrcture:

We have Panchakarma OPD and Panchakarma IPD (male and female seperate ),We have two male and two female therapy rooms with attached bathroom.two male and two female Panchakarma assistant .dpt includes various Panchakarma equipments like massage table ,steam box. shorodhara yantra, leeches various medicines,oils ,powders etc. Panchakarma dpt having 64 equipment models , 125 charts. Dept library having 63 books and 20 magazines.

No of publications:

No book or individual publication of faculties but articles of faculties had been published in various magazines. Dr Pawar anand ,HOD has-been editor of two international scientific research issues published in 2017 and 2018. also having publishes 6 articles in various scientific magazines. Dr mule Smita . lecturer in dpt published 2 article in scientific magazine.

MOU:

Panchakarma dpt having MOU with Maharashtra institute of physiotherapy ,Latur on 7/3/2018. Two practical demonstration visit has been carried out there with students . A-12/11/2018 with 40 students B-23/02/2019 with 49 students. Speciality: At panchakarma dpt succesful clinical work has been going on in musculoskeletal and neurological disorders like paralysis, cervical and lumbar spondylitis, cord compression, canal stenosis etc...
